Makeup in Film

I’m a movie addict, as I’m sure most people are. I love watching, then re-watching a film just because I take in the makeup. Classic looks, both special effects and everyday beauty looks. Films continue to influence and inspire my work, colours, textures and how some materials look different in lighting change. Below I’ve listed some makeup looks I’ve loved and some really memorial for me, enjoy!

Sex And the City 2

When Carrie visits the market in Abu Dhabi and comes back to the hotel to get ready to go out, I love it. That iconic Blue Heaven Kajal eyeliner, sets the mood and changes up her look instantly, making her blue eyes pop. For those of you who don’t know I’m obsessed with Sex and the City so this was the first film I had to mention.

Dirty Dancing

Again one of my favourites but also one of the first films I fell in love with. Baby shows us fresh faced youthful skin, barely there eyeliner and neutral 80s lip colour. I love when skin looks like skin, so effortless but looks amazing on screen.

Clueless

That makeover scene with the red hair dye and Chers iconic wardrobe, I was always so jel! The Cher and Dionne duo never failed to recognise that 90s vibe. The brown lip, naturally flushed cheeks and natural base.

Chicago

Capture1

The sultry eyes, deep cherry lip and double stacked lashes helps create dimension and drama! The classic 20’s makeup style has lasted it’s time in tv and film and isn’t going anywhere- An oldie but most definite goodie!
